FixItMarin Pilot Program: Starting in October, Santa Venetians were given the opportunity to use FixItMarin, a new app that makes it easy to report issues like potholes, missing street signs, or illegal dumping directly from your phone or computer. This tool is part of a County pilot program designed to make service requests faster, simpler, and more efficient for unincorporated areas of Marin. Thanks to our District 1 Supervisor’s Office for advocating for Santa Venetia to be included in this first pilot phase. Please visit the County page (https://tinyurl.com/2wbzkddj) to download the app or to report issues from your computer. To provide feedback, visit https://tinyurl.com/puw6tc4z
Buck’s Landing – Onsite Meeting Opportunity for Proposed Plans: Craig Richardson, Senior Planner at Marin County Parks, agreed to host an onsite tour for the neighborhood to review proposed plans for the dock/pier at Buck’s Landing. We are very excited and thankful for this opportunity! Please join us at Buck’s on Friday, December 5, at 3pm to learn more about this project. (in case of cancellation, confirm on our website before heading out.)
Update on Efficiency and Sustainable Energy (EASE) Home Program – Launched in Marin this last August, the EASE Home Program provides direct install of energy efficiency projects to income-qualified single-family homes. Projects can include attic and wall insulation, weatherization/air sealing, duct repair or replacement, and more.
EASE Home will cover 80% of the total project costs and residents will be responsible for the remaining 20% with that co-payment amount to not exceed $1,000.
This program is targeted to low- to middle-income residents. In order to qualify, household gross (before tax) income must be at or below 120% Area Median Income (AMI) for Marin County. Eligibility is based on resident income. Renters can qualify for EASE Home, but will need permission from the property owner to move forward with a project.
So far in Marin, 75 homes have completed site visits (including a handful in Santa Venetia) with the program and 15 homes have completed projects with more being scheduled each week. Homes that are a good fit for the program are those that have accessible attic spaces and central furnace systems (ducts).
These types of energy efficiency projects can benefit older homes that experience high utility bills and comfort issues in the winter. If you think your home or the home of a friend or neighbor could benefit from this program, we encourage you to fill out our Marin County EASE Home interest form at www.bit.ly/MarinEASE or call us at 415-473-2698. If you need assistance applying to the program in-person, you can make an appointment to meet with Marin County staff at the Civic Center. Call or email Kellen Dammann, Program Coordinator, 415-473-2698, kellen.dammann@marincounty.gov
