Community Preparedness
Location = Osher Marin JCC
With the coming of El Niño, the predicted King Tides, and the potential for flooding, we thought it would be good to have a neighborhood conversation. The focus will be on community preparation and how we might respond if flooding occurs. We hope to be joined by someone from the County to help answer our questions. We will also be joined by our SVNA CERT Committee who can update us on their plans to assist in case of an emergency. Join your neighbors for what is always a rousing conversation.
We will again be meeting in-person and want to thank Osher Marin JCC for providing our meeting space!

Join your neighbors for our bi-monthly Community Meeting. The format changes, the topics change, the people change… but the meetings are always informative and the debate lively. We don’t have the speaker(s) tied down yet (if there’s something that would be of interest to you, please let us know!), but we will be holding our annual SVNA Board Elections so join us with your support.
♦ Most meetings include Working Committee presentations regarding Neighborhood Beautification, Social Activities, Membership, Traffic, Parks, our Watershed, and more… as time allows.

National Night Out! & Potluck at the Korean Presbyterian Church
Location = Korean Presbyterian Church
We will again be meeting in-person for National Night Out!
National Night Out is an annual celebration connecting community members and our public servants. We hope to start with a potluck at 6pm-ish (we’ll bring the pizzas) and plan to stay until the conversation is over. So, if you can’t get there earlier, come later.
As in previous years, we have invited the Marin County Sheriff’s Department and the San Rafael Fire Department to join us. As well, we expect to be joined by our Representatives (Supervisor Mary Sackett and possibly Assemblyperson Damon Connolly). We are never sure who will be able to attend, depending on service calls and other obligations, but we do know our SV CERT Team will be on hand to update us and answer any questions you may have. And if left on our own, I’m sure we will still have plenty to discuss. So, however it goes, count on an interesting and informative evening! Bring your questions, suggestions, and concerns, and join us to meet your neighbors!

Oxford Valley Preservation Discussion, MWPA Presentation, and June = Summer Fun: Marin County Fair & JCC
Location = Osher Marin JCC
Join your neighbors for our bi-monthly Community Meeting in June. Presentations and discussions will include:
Oxford Valley! The property has recently come on the market and we will meet to discuss how we can take advantage or this opportunity to work together to preserve this 28-acre parcel for the future. Please join us to show your support for this possibility.
But first, we will welcome both the Marin County Cultural Services (Marin County Fair) and the Osher Marin JCC to tell us about their Summer Plans and (see below for free tickets to their events for our SVNA Raffle)
And finally, the Marin Wildfire Protection Authority (MWPA): You may have recently received your MWPA fire risk evaluation notice and as well, MWPA just released the new Marin County Community Wildfire Protection Plan draft summary for San Rafael (with several mentions of Santa Venetia including evacuation). We have invited a representative to join us for a quick presentation on this important issue.
And don’t forget our SVNA Raffle at the end of the meeting – As in previous years, we will have two pairs of tickets for the upcoming Main County Fair and as well, two pairs of tickets from the JCC for their Summer Nights Concert on August 1 (SVNA members only). Thank you to the Marin County Fair and the Osher Marin JCC for their generosity!

Join your neighbors for our bi-monthly Community Meeting in March where we’ll be discussing Santa Venetia Safety including:
Flooding:
1) summary of causes of flooding
2) key findings of the survey in Santa Venetia about flooding concerns, support for the floodwall and willingness to pay
3) updates on status of the proposed floodwall project
CERT (Community Emergency Response Team:
1) update on CERT activities
2) results of the emergency response survey to date
3) neighborhood response issues
