The SVNA CERT Committee is a group of Santa Venetians who have come together to help our neighborhood be ready to help Santa Venetia respond in case of a disaster. We will all need to work together in that event. We have been working diligently to restock our supplies and amass equipment that will help should there be an emergency. In 2024, we purchased a trailer to keep our supplies (that we replenish regularly) and equipment that is centrally located and easy to access in case it is needed. We also have bins in other locations And as well, we applied for and received a grant from the County. Along with this and the donations from SVNA members, this allows us to fund our purchases.
Our Committee meets monthly where we discuss what is done, what needs to be done, and test out our equipment to make sure everything is working properly. Members of our Committee also attend SVNA meetings and functions with the hope of educating the neighborhood about our work.
We have prepared a survey that will help us know the resources available in our community and if you haven’t already completed and submitted, we would appreciate your doing so. To access the survey, visit: https://tinyurl.com/mr3vhffd. Please complete, and return to The SVNA, POB 4047, San Rafael, CA 94913-4047 or CERT@santavenetia.org.
